Melbourne Cup - 'High Tea'

The ‘Race that Stops the Nation’ was celebrated in fine style this week – yellow and purple were the feature colours and the hall was a bright fusion of colour. Rivalling the fashions on the field, our members made a great effort in ‘frocking up’ for the occasion. Sweeps provided a passionate focus for the race with the few rounds of bingo, lucky door and best dressed man and woman prizes adding to the afternoon’s entertainment. With good food, good company and the odd successful sweep, it was all over as quickly as the race!

A very big thank you to Norm, our commentator for the day, to all who helped make the day a success but especially to the tireless ladies who barely left the kitchen!
